Drivers to experience delays at I-29 and Gene Field Road Tuesday

ST. JOSEPH, Mo (KQTV) -- Clarkson Construction Company and the Missouri Department of Transportation have scheduled for the northbound lanes of Interstate 29 at the Gene Field Road Bridge to be narrowed to one lane Tuesday night.

The delays come as the companies will be constructing a girder placement on the bridge.

Northbound I-29 will be narrowed to one lane at the construction site from 7 p.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday morning.

During the hours of 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., the contractor will use rolling closures to stop oncoming traffic for up to 15 minutes while the project is underway.

The Gene Field Road Bridge replacement project is scheduled to be completed by July of 2026.
