High School students create Museum Exhibit

ST. JOSEPH, Mo (KQTV) -- A Lafayette High School class made an exhibit open to the public at the St. Joseph Museums.

Students from Mrs. Brooke Rich's social studies class spent four months collecting artifacts and researching history to construct an exhibit celebrating Jewish history in St. Joseph.

The exhibit celebrates the heritage that dates back to 1857, when the first Jewish population arrived in St. Joseph.

"The cool thing about the class is that it doesn't matter what grade you're in," Rich said. "I had a lot of them tell me, it felt like history was real. Not just a textbook anymore."

The Spotlighting St. Joseph's Jewish History exhibit is now open to the public at the St. Joseph Museums on Frederick Street.
