St. Joseph, Mo (KQTV) -- The St. Joseph Convention and Visitors Bureau released Buchanan County's tourism statistics for the last three years during National Travel and Tourism Week.

The city has seen a gradual increase in tourism dollars from a gross of $229 million in 2023 to $239 million at the end of 2025.

Additionally, a total of over 218,000 hotel rooms were booked in 2025.

St. Joseph Convention and Visitors Bureau Communications and Marketing Director Christian Mengel elaborated more on the numbers that Buchanan County grossed.

"It's really a country-wide thing in terms of reflecting on our tourism in our communities," Mengel said. "So when you see those dollar amounts of $239 million, that's a huge amount of money for tourism."

The City of St. Joseph is currently in the midst of gaining three new hotels to compensate for the growing number of tourists.
