MoWest to honor more than 400 Graduates during spring commencement ceremonies

St. Joseph, Mo (KQTV) -- Missouri Western State University will honor more than 400 graduates during spring commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 9, at the MWSU Fieldhouse in the M.O. Looney Complex.

Graduates from the College of Science and Health will be recognized during the 11 a.m. commencement ceremony.

Graduates from the Division of Academic Affairs, the College of Business and Professional Studies and the College of Liberal Arts will be recognized during the 3 p.m. commencement ceremony. Both ceremonies will be live-streamed on the MIAA Network.

The featured speaker for both ceremonies will be Leslie McMillin, a 2000 graduate of MoWest. In addition, graduating students will also speak at both ceremonies.

The 11 a.m. speaker will be Dein Gentry, a musical arts major from Springfield, Missouri. The 3 p.m. speaker will be Allaina Mace, a psychology major from St. Joseph.

The MoWest Alumni Association will sponsor a brief reception after each ceremony in the Looney practice gym.

In addition to the commencement ceremonies, graduates in two health care professions will take part in pinning ceremonies, where they will receive pins symbolizing their training and entry into their new careers.
