Grow Native! Plant sale coming to Remington Nature Center Saturday

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Hundreds of native plants, including wildflowers, grasses, shrubs and trees, will be available for purchase during a Grow Native! plant sale at the Remington Nature Center, Saturday.

The sale will begin at 10 a.m.

Native plant vendors at this event are Sow Wild Natives, Missouri Wildflowers Nursery, Herbs & Heirlooms Farm and City Roots Nursery.

"Choosing native plants for home landscaping is one of the best actions homeowners can take to support nature’s web of life and add beauty to their yards or property,” said Carol Davit, MPF Executive Director. 

The sale will take place at the parking lot outside the Remington Nature Center. Payment options vary by vendor; some accept cash, checks and credit cards, while others accept only cash or checks.

Shoppers may pick up pre-orders, peruse aisles, and make purchases from each vendor at the advertised start time. "Early birds” will be asked to wait until the advertised start time to begin shopping. Volunteers will be available to assist customers. 

The vendors are accepting pre-orders. When placing your pre-orders, please include your phone number and note that the order is for the Remington Nature Center sale on May 9.

City Roots Nursery- Order via website until midnight on Thursday, May 7.

Missouri Wildflowers Nursery- Order by calling 573-496-3492, by email at mowldflrs@socket.net, or online https://mowildflowers.net/. See http://mowildflowers.net for a plant list. Orders must be placed no later than midnight on Tuesday, May 5.

Sow Wild Natives- See https://sowwildnatives.com/products for a plant list. Order by emailing tracy@sowwildnatives.com the species and quantities.

All vendors will donate a portion of their sale proceeds to benefit the Missouri Prairie Foundation.
