Three dead in a two-vehicle wreck in Nodaway County on Saturday

NODAWAY COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- A two-vehicle crash outside Burlington Junction on Saturday claimed the lives of two individuals from Iowa and one from Texas, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop H.

The crash occurred around 1:25 pm on May 9 on US-71, south of 170th. A 2016 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by a 59-year-old woman from Carthage, Texas, crossed the center line and struck a 2026 Ford Explorer driven by a 72-year-old man from Rockwell City, Iowa.

The Texas driver, a 76-year-old female passenger from Rockwell City, and another passenger from Harlan City, Iowa, all riding in the Ford SUV, died at the scene. The Ford driver was transported in serious condition to Bryan West Medical in Lincoln, Neb.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, all four individuals involved were properly restrained.
