Davis appointed to SJSD Director of School Improvement role

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The St. Joseph School District's Board of Education has approved the next Director of School Improvement for the district.

According to a release by the school district, the board approved the appointment of Dr. Samantha Davis to be the next Director of School Improvement for the 2026-2027 school year.

Davis has worked in education for 18 years with roles in academic planning, social-emotional support, and state compliance.

She started her career in the district as a school counselor and is currently the Coordinator of College and Career Readiness and Family Services. Davis has experience with Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP) 6 processes, assessment coordination, and statewide reporting systems.

Davis is replacing Dr. Kendra Lau, who is retiring on June 30.
