Some areas around Arrowhead will be inaccessible for World Cup matches

KC2026

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KQTV) -- Most areas around Kansas City Stadium (Arrowhead) will be inaccessible to fans, according to Kansas City's World Cup host committee.

Permit access-only areas are expected to be implemented around the stadium for up to 7 hours on match days, starting 6 days before the first kick. This lies mostly with the Blue Ridge Cutoff residential area near the Truman Sports Complex.

According to the website:

  • No left-hand turns from Blue Ridge Cutoff once traffic management is in place.
  • Two hours prior to match time (kickoff):
    • Blue Ridge Cutoff northbound lanes close at Raytown Road. Vehicles on the east side of Blue Ridge Cutoff can exit using the northbound lanes
    • Blue Ridge Cutoff southbound lanes remain open, but no left (eastbound) turns
  • Kickoff through first half:
Blue Ridge Cutoff northbound lanes reopen
  • Halftime:
Blue Ridge Cutoff northbound lanes close to prepare for traffic leaving the stadium

There will also be limited stadium parking for game-day spectators. ConnectKC26 Stadium Direct bus service will bring ticketed spectators to the stadium via park-and-ride bus operations.

This bus service is $15 per rider, per match according to the website. Riders will also need to provide a match ticket.

This service will begin three hours before the first kick and will last two hours after the match concludes.
