Tracking a warm & sunny Memorial Day

Good morning and happy Memorial Day.

We’re starting off warm and dry this morning, with temperatures already in the low 60s and a south wind continuing to bring in much warmer air. Skies are mainly clear across northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas, and we’ll keep plenty of sunshine through the day today.

By lunchtime, temperatures will already be climbing into the upper 70s and low 80s, making for great weather to spend time outside, fire up the grill, or head to the pool.

Later this afternoon and evening, highs will climb into the upper 80s, and a few spots could even touch 90 degrees. It’s going to be a hot Memorial Day, so be sure to stay hydrated and take breaks if you’re spending extended time outdoors.

Cloud cover begins increasing overnight tonight before rain chances return late Tuesday night and continue into Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible.

For today though, enjoy the sunshine and warm temperatures as we wrap up the holiday weekend.
