Mound City High School alum and former Omaha standout Tony Osburn holds fourth annual kids basketball camps

(MOUND CITY, MO) - Mound City High School alum Tony Osburn held his 4th annual kids basketball clinic in his hometown Friday. Osburn had 3 sessions of kids for the camp that participated in drills and skills challenges, ranging from 3rd grade all the way to high school.

Osburn is coming off a successful 4-year run in college at the University of Nebraska Omaha. He played a huge part in growing the Mavericks' program. In Osburn's junior season, Omaha went to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. He scored over 1,000 career points at Omaha.

Osburn entered his name in the transfer portal in case he gets a final year of eligibility, but he's going to try to play for a basketball team professionally overseas.

Osburn has been looked at as a huge role model in his community and he loves holding camps like these to give back.

"It means a lot because it's a community that's given me a bunch and they have supported me even though I've been four years removed from high school and I'm sure they're going to continue to support me," said Osburn. "It's hard for me not to give back to a place that's done so much for me. (The kids) were great today. They get better. It's a lot of fun for me and I hope it's a lot of fun for them as well."

Osburn's 380 career made 3-point shots during his time at Mound City still rank third all-time in Missouri state history.
