Tracking a more seasonable Tuesday

Good morning and happy Tuesday.

Temperatures are starting off in the upper 60s to low 70s this morning, but one noticeable change compared to the past several days will be the lower humidity. Drier air is beginning to filter into northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas behind yesterday's weak frontal boundary, helping conditions feel much more comfortable.

High temperatures this afternoon will climb into the low 80s, which is several degrees cooler than Monday's upper 80s. Combined with lower humidity levels, today will feel much closer to seasonal averages for early June. Expect a mix of sunshine and passing clouds throughout the day, with dry conditions remaining in place.

The comfortable weather pattern continues into Wednesday. Morning lows will fall back into the 60s, with afternoon highs once again reaching the low 80s. Humidity levels will remain relatively low, making for another pleasant day across the region.

Changes arrive late Thursday as moisture begins to return from the south ahead of our next weather system. Shower and thunderstorm chances increase Thursday afternoon and evening, with additional rounds of rain and thunderstorms possible through Friday and into the weekend.

Temperatures will also begin trending upward once again. Highs are expected to return to the upper 80s by the weekend as humidity levels increase. While it is too early to pinpoint exact timing and rainfall amounts, periods of showers and thunderstorms appear likely from Friday through early next week.

Enjoy the break from the heat and humidity over the next couple of days before a more active and summer-like weather pattern returns later this week.
