Tracking a mild Wednesday before end of week rain

Good morning and happy Wednesday.

Temperatures this morning are in the low to mid-60s with a light southeast breeze and comfortable humidity levels. Skies are mostly clear, making for another pleasant start across northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas.

Highs this afternoon will climb into the low to mid-80s under mostly sunny skies. Cloud cover will gradually increase later today ahead of our next weather system, but dry conditions will continue through tonight.

Rain and thunderstorm chances return Thursday afternoon and evening as a low-pressure system moves through the Plains. Additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms are possible Thursday night, Friday, and through the weekend.

Temperatures will warm back into the upper 80s Thursday before remaining in the 80s through the weekend. While not every day will be a washout, several opportunities for rain and thunderstorms are expected through early next week.

For today, enjoy the sunshine and comfortable conditions before a more active weather pattern returns.
