Tracking a cool Monday with clouds

Good morning and happy Monday.

We're starting the day with temperatures in the middle and upper 50s, with a few locations near 60 degrees. While temperatures will warm through the afternoon, highs will remain about 10 degrees below seasonal averages, topping out near 77 degrees.

Expect mostly cloudy skies for much of the day, although cloud cover will gradually decrease through the afternoon and evening. As more sunshine breaks through later today, temperatures will slowly climb into the upper 70s, making for a pleasant end to the day.

Skies will continue to clear overnight, allowing for a quiet and comfortable start to Tuesday. Temperatures will return to the low 80s Tuesday afternoon with a mix of sun and clouds.

Our next chance for rain arrives late Tuesday night and continues through Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as several rounds of showers and thunderstorms move through the region. Temperatures will remain seasonable during this period, with highs generally in the low to middle 80s.

Looking ahead to the weekend, warmer air returns as temperatures climb back into the upper 80s and lower 90s. While rain chances decrease by the weekend, we'll continue to monitor the forecast for any additional storm chances as we get closer.

Enjoy the cooler temperatures today before the warmer and more active weather pattern returns later this week.
