Tracking a warm Wednesday with some clouds

Good morning and happy Wednesday.

We're starting the day with temperatures in the low to middle 60s and relatively quiet conditions across northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas. After several days of cooler weather, today will be the warmest day of the week so far.

High temperatures will climb into the low 80s this afternoon under a mix of sun and clouds. A weak cold front will move through the region later today, bringing a slight chance for a few isolated showers. Rain chances remain very low, around 10%, and many locations will stay dry.

Behind the front, temperatures will cool slightly for Thursday and Friday, with highs returning to the upper 70s and lower 80s.

Our next better chance for measurable rainfall arrives Thursday afternoon and evening as another system moves through the area. Additional spotty shower chances will linger into Friday before conditions begin to improve heading into the weekend.

Looking ahead, summerlike heat returns as temperatures warm back into the upper 80s and lower 90s Saturday and Sunday. At this time, the weekend forecast looks largely dry, making for favorable conditions for outdoor plans.

Enjoy the warmer temperatures today before a brief cooldown arrives for the end of the workweek.
