St. Joseph Mustangs split road double-header with Joplin Jailbirds

JOPLIN, Mo. (KQTV) - The St. Joseph Mustangs baseball team had a road double-header with the Joplin Jailbirds on Wednesday due to a rain-out game from Tuesday. St. Joseph fell 5-4 in the first game but came back to win the second, 5-2.

In that second game, Atchison High School alum Boston Bruce finished 2-for-4 with 3 RBI for the Mustangs. Benton High School alum Chris Coy picked up his first victory on the mound for St. Joseph as well. Coy pitched 6.1 innings with 4 strikeouts, 5 hits and 2 runs given up.

The Mustangs are now 10-8 on the season and 8-7 in MINK League play. The team hits the road again on Thursday, June 25th to face the Clarinda A's in Iowa at 7 pm.
