Tracking a warm and humid Sunday

After a cloudy a humid Saturday across much of northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri Sunday will start off with lots of sunshine. Expect mostly sunny skies with temperatures climbing into the lower 90s.

The humidity will start to be felt across much of the area by the afternoon hours and we could have readings that make it feel more like 105 to 107 degrees. Even with a south wind at 15 to 25 miles per hour the humidity will really make it feel very uncomfortable on Sunday.

A Extreme Heat Warning goes into effect on Sunday afternoon at 1pm and continues through much of next week as a prolonged stretch of dangerous heat settles in over the region. Heat index values will between 105 and 110 degrees are expected.
