Tracking a hot and humid Monday

Summer is going to make its self know across northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri on Monday in a big way as temperatures will start to rise into the 90s. We are expecting mostly sunny skies across the area for much of the day and mostly clear skies at night.

Heat index values could reach 105 to 110 degrees, making outdoor activities potentially dangerous during the afternoon hours. An Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect for the area until Friday.

South winds will increase to 15 to 25 miles per hour, with occasional gusts over 30 miles per hour, providing little relief from the heat while making it feel quite breezy but still very warm.
