SAVANNAH, Mo. (KQTV) -- Level Up Arcade in Savannah held its first-ever block party at the Savannah Square, bringing together local families and businesses for a day of summer fun.

Owner Mathew Svoboda created the event as a safe place for kids to hang out during the summer months, inviting local vendors and family-owned businesses to participate.

Svoboda described the experience of organizing the event as a commitment but expressed satisfaction with how things turned out.

Despite the summer heat, he noted a great turnout, reinforcing his desire to continue the event next year.

"I made the arcade to bring a safe place for kids to play and just hang out and have fun," Svoboda said. "I wanted to bring in some other local family-run businesses in the area and have a large family business get-together."

Level Up Arcade is located on the Savannah Square and offers free arcade games to those looking for a nostalgic experience.

More information about the arcade and future events can be found on their Facebook page.
