ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV)-- The City of St. Joseph and the Allied Arts Council are reminding the community that the 2026 Mayor's Awards for the Arts nomination deadline is approaching.

The awards are presented annually by the St. Joseph Mayor. Larry Miller will present the awards for the first time.

The awards celebrate the individuals and organizations whose creativity enriches the quality of life in St. Joseph.

"Every day, people throughout our community dedicate their time, talent, and passion to making the arts more accessible and meaningful," Executive Director Jessica Agnew said. "The Mayor's Awards for the Arts give us the opportunity to recognize those individuals and organizations whose contributions often happen behind the scenes but make a lasting impact on our city."

The final day to submit nominations is 11:59 p.m. on Monday, July 6.

Members of the community are encouraged to submit nominations for individuals, businesses, educators, volunteers and organizations. Award recipients will be selected by an independent panel of arts leaders across Missouri.

The event will be held at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art and will start at 5:00 p.m.

Categories include: Artist of the Year, Arts Educator of the Year, Youth Artist, Organizational Achievement in the Arts, Individual Leadership and Outstanding Volunteer.

Nomination forms and additional information are available at www.stjoearts.org.
