Freudenthal Center to host August Gala

Freudenthal Center for Parkinson's Disease

ST. JOSEPH, Mo (KQTV) -- A local non-profit organization from the East Hills Shopping Center is holding an annual event in August.

The Freudenthal Center for Parkinson's Disease is hosting the 6th Unite and Fight Gala at the Stoney Creek Hotel and Convention Center.

The Gala is open to community members and potential sponsors around the area to attend.

The price of admission is $50, and a meal is provided during the gala.

"How the community can get involved is to buy a ticket and come; it includes a meal and a program," Managing Officer Garrett Patterson said. "There isn't much you can do for $50 anymore, and especially knowing you're supporting something that's a great cause."

The gala is meant to raise funds for the center at the East Hills Shopping Center.

The Freudenthal Center for Parkinson's Disease provides an outlet for individuals with Parkinson's to participate in physical activities, primarily boxing.

The doors open for the Gala at 5 p.m. on Aug. 11, with the program starting at 6:15 p.m.
