Tracking a sunny & hot week ahead

Good morning and happy Monday!

We're starting the workweek with calm and quiet conditions across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas. A few areas of patchy fog are possible before sunrise, but most locations will remain clear. Temperatures are beginning the day in the middle to upper 60s with light southeast winds, making for a comfortable and seasonable start.

High pressure remains in control, bringing plenty of sunshine and dry weather today. Temperatures will warm quickly through the morning, reaching the middle 80s by lunchtime before climbing into the upper 80s this afternoon. It will be another warm, summer-like day with mostly sunny skies and light winds.

Overnight, temperatures will fall back into the low to middle 60s under mostly clear skies, setting up another pleasant start to Tuesday.

Highs today will reach around 88 degrees, right around seasonal averages for mid-July. The dry pattern continues through much of the week, with little to no chance for rain as high pressure remains in place.

Temperatures will continue to climb through the week, reaching the low 90s by midweek and the upper 90s by the weekend. With several days of sunshine and building heat ahead, be sure to stay hydrated and limit prolonged time outdoors during the hottest part of the afternoon.
