Teen motorcyclist identified after fatal motorcycle crash on I-29

PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- The Kansas City Police Department identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash that happened on Interstate 29 Wednesday.

17-year-old Brody Schleuger died after crashing into the back of a semi-truck on I-29.

Schleuger was traveling south on his Kawasaki Ninja at a very high rate of speed, weaving in and out of lanes while also "splitting lanes", according to the Kansas City Police Department.

Around 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, Schleuger struck a white Freightliner semi-truck, which was pulling an unloaded flatbed trailer. Hitting the rear end of the trailer, ejecting him off his motorcycle.

After the crash, the Kawasaki caught on fire and was engulfed in flames. Schleuger was pronounced dead at the scene, according to KCPD.
