MoWest prepares facilities for 2026 Chiefs Training Camp

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The Kansas City Chiefs are getting closer to making a return to St. Joseph for training camp.

Missouri Western State University has been preparing all of its facilities for the arrival of the four-time Super Bowl champions.

Jeremy Acton and Brian Harrah play a major role in setting up for training camp. As the facilities director, Acton said work starts in April and that there are many little details that attendees may not realize.

"There's a lot more to it than just when you show up, and it's set up," said Acton. "There are hours upon hours of prep work."

One important role MoWest plays during training camp is security.

Dorms like Scanlon and Vaselakos Hall have to be reorganized and prepped before the Chiefs arrive on campus.

"With security, we do a lot of crowd control work," said Acton. "Our campus police department helps with their security and we play a big part in all of it."

Harrah has been with MoWest since the inception of training camp in 2010. Despite his being there for all of the moments, Harrah sees this as a rare opportunity.

"We are hosting a NFL, professional team here," said Harrah. "Sometimes you kind of forget that when you are in the middle of setting all of those things up."

The full training camp schedule can be found on the Chiefs' website here.
