Tracking a warmer Tuesday with sunshine

Good morning and happy Tuesday!

We're starting the day with another warm and quiet morning across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas. Temperatures are running a few degrees warmer than yesterday, with lows in the upper 60s to low 70s. Light easterly winds and high pressure continue to keep conditions calm, comfortable and dry.

Plenty of sunshine is expected today with just a few passing clouds. Temperatures will warm into the middle to upper 80s by lunchtime before climbing to around 90 degrees this afternoon. It will be another hot summer day, so remember to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and take breaks if you're spending extended time outdoors.

Mostly clear skies continue tonight, with overnight lows falling back into the upper 60s.

The forecast has changed slightly for the second half of the week. While most of the week remains dry, a weak disturbance could bring a 20% chance of isolated showers Thursday afternoon, mainly along and south of U.S. Highway 36 toward the Interstate 70 corridor. Rain coverage looks very limited, and most locations are expected to stay dry.

Temperatures continue to climb through the week, with highs remaining in the low 90s Wednesday before reaching the middle to upper 90s by the weekend under mostly sunny skies.
