Tracking weekend heat and sunshine, isolated t-storms

Summer heat and humidity are here to stay across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas for the next several days, along with slim chances for isolated showers and thunderstorms. Partly to mostly sunny skies, a 20% chance of stray t-storms, and highs in the low 90s Saturday afternoon will give way to a warm and muggy night with lows in the mid to low 70s. Sunshine and heat return Sunday as afternoon highs rise into the low to mid 90s, with an additional chance for isolated t-storms after the 3 o’clock hour. Muggy air will make temperatures feel hotter both Saturday and Sunday, with peak heat index values topping out between 100 and 105 degrees. Heat is likely to intensify Monday as highs rise into the mid to upper 90s, and heat index values climb above 105 degrees.
