EMERSON, Ga. (KQTV) -- Two local high school baseball players will take the field this week for Team Missouri in the 2026 Prep Baseball Future Games.

Benton High School junior middle infielder Porter McCarthy and Savannah High School junior first baseman Jagger Jackson suit up for Team Missouri in the 16U Division Prep Baseball Future Games at the LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, Ga. starting on Thursday.

In the Prep Baseball Report preview, scouts were impressed with his "smooth left-handed swing at the Missouri State Games."

"He displayed a high feel for the barrel during batting practice that translated well into gameplay," wrote Ryan Malzahn, the Assistant Missouri Scouting Director. "A fluid mover with above-average speed, Porter turned in a 6.72-second 60-yard dash at the Missouri State Games. Expect him to continue showcasing his polished left-handed bat and athleticism as a member of Team Missouri down in Georgia."

As for Jackson, he is Missouri's No. 2 ranked first baseman and "has emerged as one of the top right-handed hitters in the state."

"He possesses a rare combination of a powerful swing, and a mature approach at the plate. Jagger has taken the summer by storm, putting up impressive numbers at the some of the top Prep Baseball tournaments in the country. Look for him to bring his hot bat down to the Georgia heat as a key contributor for Team Missouri."

The games begin on Thursday with more to follow on Friday and Saturday. For more information about Jackson and McCarthy, click here.
