Tracking mid-week rain and t-storm chances

Hot and humid conditions Tuesday afternoon will give way to spotty rain and t-storm chances this evening, as a front pushes into Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas. The best opportunity for widespread showers and thunderstorms will arrive Wednesday, with 60% to 70% chances through much of the day between periods of dry time. Cloud coverage and areas of rain will serve to break the heat as well. After highs near 90 degrees Tuesday, Wednesday afternoon will feature highs in the low 80s. Rain chances will dwindle Thursday with mild air lingering across the area, before August heat and sunshine return for the weekend.
