Chiefs’ undrafted free agent Kahlil Benson pushing for starting right tackle spot in Training Camp

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) - One player on the offensive line that's continued to be impressive at Kansas City Chiefs Training Camp has been big #70, undrafted free agent tackle from undefeated National Champion Indiana, Kahlil Benson.

Benson has been starting for the Chiefs at right tackle with the ones all week in camp. The 24 year old is 6'6 and 319 pounds. Former first round pick Josh Simmons, the starting left tackle for the Chiefs on the other side of the line has been very impressed with Benson's play so far.

"I think Kahlil is doing a great job. I think he's a very physical player. I think he should just add on to that," said Simmons. "I think you can't really teach effort. I mean that's what he's giving out there, so that's really all I'm telling him right now is keep doing that effort." 

"(Benson) is a talented guy. Big...he's a Mississippi guy. Those Mississippi guys are cut from a different cloth," said defensive tackle Chris Jones. "That's a silk brother, without a doubt I have nothing but respect for him."
