United Way announces results of Stuff the Bus

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- United Way's 18th Annual Stuff the Bus school supplies drive, presented by Mosaic Life Care, was a success, with the community donating thousands of items on Saturday.

Over 27,000 items were donated and more than $2,300 in monetary donations was accepted.

Since the drive began in 2009, over 331,000 items have been collected total.

Supplies will be distributed through United Way partner agencies, including The Salvation Army, to help students start the school year prepared.

Families in need can contact The Salvation Army by August 13, 2026, for distribution details.

United Way President Kylee Strough thanked sponsors, volunteers, donors, and local businesses for their support, highlighting the community's strong spirit of giving.

The drive aims to reduce financial burdens on families and schools, promote education, and offer volunteer opportunities for all ages.
