Tracking hot and breezy days ahead

After a round of early morning showers and thunderstorms, hot, humid, and sunny conditions are firmly in place across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas Sunday afternoon as southwesterly breezes continue to pump an oppressive airmass into the region. A Heat Advisory has been issued region-wide through 8 p.m. Sunday evening, with heat index values above 105 degrees possible. Similar conditions are expected Monday and into Tuesday, with spotty late-night early morning t-storm chances, and hot humid afternoons as highs reach the low to mid 90s with triple digit heat index values each day. Persistent southerly winds at 10 to 20 mph will also stick around for the next two days, providing little relief from the August heat.
