Pigskin Preview: Mid-Buchanan looks to build on winning culture in 2026

FAUCETT, Mo. (KQTV) -- The Mid-Buchanan Dragons head into 2026 as back-to-back district champions, and this year's squad wants to continue building on the program's winning culture.

The Dragons finished 11-1 in 2025 with a Class 2 District 8 championship and a quarterfinals appearance.

Mid-Buchanan returns some key players in 2026, including four All-State honorees.

"The guys buy in and want to work hard for each other and not let each other down," head coach Aaron Fritz said. "That changes everything, and just everybody kind of buys in that this is what we're here to do. We're here to work hard, but we're here to have a good time."

The Dragons have not had a losing season since 2017.

Mid-Buchanan opens the season Friday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m. at South Harrison.
