KQ2 Pigskin Preview: North Andrew looks to have more depth in 2026 to help out Cardinals in tough GRC West

ROSENDALE, Mo. (KQTV) - North Andrew enters another season in the always tough Grand River Conference West. The Cardinals have good numbers roster-wise in fall camp and look to have more depth than last season, which early on has proven to be a big positive.

"We started a little bit slow, but I think we're picking up our offensive strategies and defensive strategies really well," said senior Boston Cole. "I think there's some people coming into roles that maybe people didn't think they'd come into, but I think they're finding those roles and doing well at those roles."

"We've been on a big focus on just doing the right things, focus on our details and just loving the game," said senior Isaac Coats.

The Cardinals are coming off a 4-6 record in 2025, and they know that North Andrews' storied tradition has been winning and winning big. We are just a few seasons removed from the Cardinals' undefeated state championship season in 2022.

"We have a couple of things we need to work on, but if we can fix those, I can see us doing really well," said junior Jax Ozenberger.

Dwayne Williams was the head coach of that 2022 North Andrew team. The now assistant coach and his son, North Andrew head coach Dustin Williams, have both been inspiring this North Andrew squad every day to push for more.

"They treat us as their own family. They treat us amazing, and they're always pushing us to be better as a group," said Cole.

North Andrew opens the season in Tarkio against East Atchison on August 28th.
