Central DeKalb County Fire called to Baker Hardware store in Maysville on Sunday

MAYSVILLE, Mo. (KQTV) -- Central DeKalb County firefighters responded to a commercial structure fire Sunday, August 16, at 9:21 am at Baker Hardware Store.

A citizen reported the fire on the south side of Maysville Square Sunday morning after seeing flames coming from an air conditioner unit in the store's south wall. Multiple firefighters responded from Maysville and Weatherby with multiple fire trucks.

When they arrived, firefighters found smoke coming from the building; however, they quickly extinguished the fire, and the air conditioner unit was removed from the structure. The situation was under control at 9:36 a.m., with damage limited to the air conditioner unit and smoke in the building.

Firefighters were assisted by DeKalb-Clinton Ambulance. Central DeKalb County Fire Protection District said no injuries were reported.
