Storage shed catches fire, propane tanks explode

MAYSVILLE, Mo. (KQTV) -- Central DeKalb County Fire District responded to a storage building on fire in rural DeKalb County that set off two propane tanks.

The fire department responded around 2:59 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, in rural DeKalb County, Missouri.

Upon arrival, the shed was fully involved in fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire to prevent it from spreading to 2 other structures on the property.

Small propane canisters exploded in the building before the fire trucks from Maysville and Weatherby arrived. Osborn Fire Protection District and the DeKalb Clinton Ambulance also provided mutual aid.

The building and its contents were a total loss, except for fuel cans, a trailer, and some personal items the homeowner removed before the fire trucks arrived.

No one was injured in this incident.
