SJSD takes precautions after alleged threat to Spring Garden Middle School

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The St. Joseph School District is taking precautions Thursday following the discovery of an alleged school threat on social media.

The alleged threat was posted on Facebook Thursday morning regarding Spring Garden Middle School.

A SJSD official told KQ2 the district is taking the reported threat seriously and it is being investigated. School Resource Officers are on site.

The SJSD official also said the district is working with law enforcement to "assess the situation and ensure the safety of students and staff."

The district sent a message to staff and families Thursday morning.
