SJPD: No credible threat to Spring Garden Middle School

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The St. Joseph Police Department investigated a report of a threat involving a St. Joseph School District middle school Thursday but determined it was not credible.

According to a release from SJPD, School Resource Officers were immediately notified and began investigating the report in accordance with established school safety protocols. There is no known threat to Spring Garden Middle School or any other school in the district at this time.

SJPD said regardless of intent, reports of threats can cause significant concern for students, families, staff and the community, and each report will be thoroughly investigated.

If an investigation determines a criminal offense has occurred, SJPD will work with prosecuting attorneys to pursue charges.
