Miami Marlins win a back-and-forth offensive showdown against Kansas City Wednesday evening

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KQTV) -- St. Joseph native Noah Cameron was on the mound for the Kansas City Royals this evening as they hosted the Miami Marlins.

The night on offense for the boys in blue saw two home runs from catcher Carter Jensen and one by Designated Hitter for the evening, Salvador Perez. Most of the offense for KC came in the 1st inning with five runs scored to blast past the Marlins 2 runs at the time.

However, hitting the long ball was also in Miami's corner this evening, as First Baseman Kyle Stowers, third baseman Javier Sanoja, and center fielder Jakob Marsee also had home runs this evening.

Cameron had a little trouble handling the fish, as he lasted only 5 innings, with 5 hits, 4 errors, and one home run. Despite the trouble, he did have 7 strikeouts against Miami before the end of his night.

Miami won the game 9- 6 at Kauffman Stadium. Royals relief pitcher Jose Cuas was given the loss for KC after taking over for Cameron.

Four other pitchers for the Royals came in after Cuas in an attempt to hold off the Marlins.

Kansas City falls to a 62-77 record; they'll look to avoid the sweep against Miami tomorrow at 6:40 pm in KC.
