Coy named Perfect Game’s top Missouri baseball player in Class of 2029

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- A Benton Cardinals sophomore has been named the Class of 2029's top Missouri baseball player.

Perfect Game, one of the largest youth baseball and softball scouting services and tournament organizations, has named Carson Coy as the top-ranked shortstop and top overall player in Missouri for the Class of 2029.

Coy plays shortstop and second base and is also a right-handed pitcher.

According to Coy's Perfect Game profile, the Benton sophomore's fastball tops out at 87 mph. Per Perfect Game, Coy's fastball is in the 99.17th percentile.

Coy was named to the 2026 Perfect Game 15U WWBA National Championship All-Tournament team in July.
