Tracking a Cloudy and Cooler Wednesday

Mike Bracciano KQ2

A big change in the weather arrives on Wednesday for Northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri as showers and thunderstorms move back into the area. The rain and thunderstorms will be possible early Wednesday morning then again Wednesday night.

We will be watching the storms as some of them could be on the strong side and produce locally heavy rain and gusty winds. The rain and thunderstorm chance now stands at 70% but that is for the early morning hours with a lesser chance by the afternoon and evening.

As we move through the afternoon we will be dealing with more clouds and some cooler air across the region. The afternoon could bring us another chance for showers and thunderstorms but I think the severe weather will set up a little further to the south of us. So much of Kansas City will be in the area that could see the best chance for severe weather. Thursday looks dry and cool with temperatures in the low to mid 80s.
