#3 Worth County outlasts #7 Princeton in conference battle

GRANT CITY, Mo. (KQTV) -- In a Top-10 8-man football showdown Friday night, the third-ranked Worth County Tigers were able to come away with a 10-point win against seventh-ranked Princeton.

The Tigers defeated Princeton, 30-20, Friday night in Grand River Conference action.

Worth County struck first in this one and took an 8-0 lead, but Princeton found the end zone to make it a two-point game, 8-6, at the end of one.

At halftime, Worth County held on to a four-point lead, 16-12.

Princeton took its first lead of the game early in the third quarter, 20-16, after a Worth County fumble turned into a touchdown for Princeton.

Going to the fourth quarter, Princeton held the lead, 20-16, but Worth County scored 14 unanswered points to win the conference showdown, 30-20.

Worth County improves to 2-1 and Princeton falls to 1-2.
