St. Joseph Health Department offering free flu shot clinic Sept. 24

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The St. Joseph Health Department will host its annual flu shot clinic Thursday, Sept. 24, offering free vaccinations to eligible Buchanan County residents.

The clinic will be inside the east entrance near J.C. Penney at East Hills Shopping Center from 10 a.m. to noon.

The clinic is available to Buchanan County residents 19 and older. Individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding must provide a note from their health care provider to receive a flu vaccination.

For individuals with mobility issues, drive-up vaccinations will be available. Signage and directions for the drive-up option will be provided at the event.

Attendees are encouraged to wear a shirt that provides access to the shoulder. Residents should bring their insurance card and identification. Any insurance will be accepted. Those without insurance can receive the vaccine.

Due to staff participation, clinic services, vital records, community health and environmental services will be unavailable at the health department on Sept. 24. Patee Market will remain open for WIC services, and typical programs at Stuber Health Center should not be affected.
