Topsy’s Popcorn & Ice Cream makes move to Shoppes at North Village

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The now-former longtime East Hills Shopping Center tenant Topsy's Popcorn & Ice Cream is moving locations.

Topsy's St. Joseph had been a part of East Hills since the 1960s, according to current general manager Rhiannan Hammett. Although the company and Hammett love the mall, they call the move a business decision.

Hammett said the company considered many options for where to move in St. Joseph and ultimately agreed on the Shoppes at North Village.

Topsy's is expected to open in mid-October at the old GameStop location between Panda Express and Nothing Bundt Cakes. The official address for the new location is 5301 North Belth Highway, Suite 103.

In recent months, the East Hills Shopping Center has built a wall in the middle of the walkway between two sections. The sign in front of the wall mentions an expo center being built.

KQ2 has reached out to the center and Craig Realty for comment and has not received a response.
