New Funding Initiative to support projects across Northwest Missouri
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri has announced the launch of the Directors Fund Grant Program.
The program is a new funding opportunity made to support impactful, project-based initiatives aimed at strengthening several communities across the company's 18-county service area.
The Directors Fund reflects the foundation's mission to invest in local nonprofit organizations through several programs and projects.
Rachel Kagay, Board Chair of The Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri, reflects on the significance and purpose of the Directors Fund Grant Program.
"The Directors Fund represents an exciting new opportunity to partner with nonprofit organizations that are working every day to improve the quality of life in our communities," Kagay said. "We are eager to support projects that create measurable impact and strengthen the region we proudly serve."
In the 2026 award cycle, the foundation is making up to $10,000 in grant funding available, with a minimum of two organizations receiving $5,000 awards each.
Nonprofit organizations in The Community Foundations' reach are encouraged to reach out and apply for funding that supports projects, programs or initiatives.
To ensure the Directors Fund achieves the intended purpose, these grant requests have to meet certain criteria.
Funding must support project-based expenses; funding may not be used for capital campaigns or emergency response efforts, funding may not be used for ongoing operating expenses and funding may not reimburse expenses that have already been incurred or costs covered by other funding sources.
For organizations interested in applying, there are a few important dates to keep in mind.
Applications open up on Oct. 1, with a deadline of Nov. 10.
Application review period is November 12th, through early December of this year.
Grant Awards will be announced in mid-December.
Grant applications are available through The Community Foundation's online grants portal.
