Unique athletic challenge benefiting St. Jude’s returns

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- A unique athletic challenge in one of St. Joseph's historic spots returns to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Participants in the Krug Castle challenge will be able to loop Krug Park in 20-minute laps. The event offers 5K and 10K race options.

Interested participants who sign up and complete the challenge will earn a challenge medal.

The event also includes a 24-hour-marathon option for those who look to loop the park over and over again past the 5K and 10K portions.

For the last man, woman and non-binary runner standing, awards will be given for those who lasted the longest.

Proceeds from the Krug Castle Challenge benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through local participants in the St. Jude Heroes campaign.

Runners will take off at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, at the event located at 3500 St. Joseph Ave. To sign up, click here.
