Tracking summer-like warmth through the weekend

Abigail McCluskey

Get ready for another stretch of unseasonably warm weather across northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas. Highs will climb into the 80s today, with sunshine and dry conditions.

The warmth sticks around through the weekend, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 80s. Some areas could even approach 90 degrees, well above the normal highs in the upper 60s to around 70.

The pattern finally looks to change early next week. Rain chances return Tuesday into Wednesday, along with cooler temperatures, although there is still some uncertainty on exactly how much rain we'll see.

Bottom line: Enjoy the sunshine, but be patient, October-like weather is still a few days away.
