Tracking weekend heat and sunshine

Unseasonably warm air and tons of sunshine will make for a toasty weekend across the Mid-Missouri River Valley, with above average temperatures and dry skies sticking around into the start of next week. Afternoon highs reach the upper 80s to low 90s Saturday, Sunday, and Monday with overnight and early morning lows routinely falling well into the 60s. Southerly breezes accompany the October heat as well, with winds sustained between 10 and 15 mph, occasionally gusting over 25 mph. The stubborn ridge of high pressure responsible for the summer-like spell of October heat finally breaks down on Tuesday, as one of several fronts sweeps through the area bringing rain chances and more seasonable air by the middle and later half of next week.
