HOLT COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- A 67-year-old Craig man was killed Friday afternoon in a crash involving a semitruck and a BNSF train in Holt County, according to the Missouri Highway State Patrol.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Oct. 16 on Holt County Route 132 at Beagle Road, about 3 miles west of Craig.

Investigators say a 2019 Peterbilt truck was traveling northbound on Beagle Road when its front end struck a BNSF train engine.

The truck was dragged westbound before the train came to a stop. The truck then became engulfed in flames and came to rest, entangled in the front of the train engine, the report states.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by the Holt County Coroner.

No one aboard the train was injured, according to the Missouri Highway State Patrol.

The crash remains under investigation.
