ATCHISON COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) — A Tarkio man is on house arrest after being arrested on a charge of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material, according to the Atchison County Sheriff's Office.

In September 2026, the Tarkio Police Department referred information on the case to the Sheriff's Office. After an investigation, the Sheriff's Office requested and obtained a search warrant.

Information from that warrant led to a probable cause statement submitted to the Atchison County Prosecutor's Office, resulting in a warrant issued by the Atchison County Circuit Court for Ronald Davis of Tarkio.

Authorities took Davis into custody without incident on October 20, 2026, and the investigation is ongoing.

According to authorities, the court initially set no bond, which was later changed to $10,000 at his arraignment. He has since been released on bond and is currently on house arrest.

The Atchison County Sheriff's Office reminds the public that all subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
