Tracking a warm & windy Wednesday

Abigail McCluskey

Good morning and happy Wednesday!

Temperatures are starting off in the middle to upper 50s across the area, making for a mild and comfortable start to the day. Conditions will remain relatively dry this morning, although a few isolated showers are possible.

Expect a windy and warmer day ahead, with more sunshine than we saw Tuesday. Highs will climb into the upper 70s and 80s for much of the area, with strong south winds gusting into the 30s. These winds will help usher in another round of unseasonably warm temperatures.

A few isolated showers are possible late Wednesday night into Thursday morning, with additional chances returning Thursday night into Friday. Rain becomes more widespread Friday and continues into Saturday, making for a wet start to the Halloween weekend.

The good news for trick-or-treaters is that rain chances are expected to become more scattered later Saturday. As we get closer to trick-or-treat time, showers should become more hit-or-miss, although a few could still develop.

Temperatures will gradually cool through the weekend, with highs falling into the low 70s by Saturday, Sunday and Monday before dropping into the upper 60s by Tuesday. Rain chances will linger into the start of next week, so keep the umbrella handy as we head into November.
