MISSOURI (KQTV) -- Amendment 6 has now been passed by Missouri voters.

1,251,555 voters voted "yes", while 835,585 voted "no".

In Buchanan County, 13,718 voted "yes", while 10,420 voted "no."

Amendment 6 will address Initiative and Referendum Powers and Legislative Change Requirements.

A "yes" vote now makes it harder for lawmakers to change or repeal laws approved by voters. At least 80% of both the House and Senate will have to approve sending a proposed change to voters, who would then have the final say.
